Losing weight & keeping it off

Hey everyone,

Today i wanted to write a slightly different post as i was feeling in the mood to talk about weighloss.
If you're anything like me then weight has and always will be something i have to keep an eye on.  I was overweight in the later years of my childhood and my early teenage years. These years were a struggle for me, but ultimately it led me in my mid-teens to loose 2 stone and keep it off.

Personally, i lost weight via slimming world. I really do love the eating plan, the lifestyle and the freedom it promotes.
Throughout the last few years i have struggled to keep the weight off but i am proud to say that i have! I've learnt that maintaining a healthy weight is a lifestyle shaped by good choices, not one crash diet after another.
If you are struggling with your weight, know that you are beautiful and you deserve to be the healthiest version of you possible.

As of January 2014 i took up Jessica Smith's fitness challenge throughout the month, i got into the habit of doing some exercise each day and atleast 5 x 30min sessions a week. So, i have continued to have an exercise routine along side my eating habits and i am really starting to FEEL like the healthy woman i am.

I hope you find inspiration to achieve your weightloss and health goals. I will do more posts soon about my everyday food and explaining a bit more about slimming world itself.

Much love, Beth xxx

My day in New York...

If you'd have told me 6 months ago that i would have got the opportunity to go to New York i wouldn't have believed you but it happened!
A completely unexpected trip happened and amongst it all my brother and i had the opportunity to spend a day in New York starting off in Manhattan then to Brooklyn and ending our day in the Bronx.
We hadn't planned anything for the day but rather wanted to explore and see where we ended up. We had such an awesome day and for a big city,  New York is extremely beautiful. It really took me by surprise.
I think my happiest moment was getting to be in central park in the rain. We discovered this beautiful lake,  it was so picturesque! We took cover under a tree and enjoyed the moment of peace in such a crazy city!
Something i am not used to is just how BIG the city is! We walked for two hours and only covered 6 blocks x 2 blocks,  needless to say it was pretty exhausting! And trying to find the subway was a NIGHTMARE! But we found so much beauty, peace, and excitement in that day.
My brother and i both agreed we need atleast two weeks there, staying right in the city, to explore more. If you're thinking about visiting, DO IT!
Here's just a few of my snaps from the day. Enjoy...

Keeping on trend this winter (fall/winter 2013)

I don't know about you but these cold winter days are making me have to re-think my wardrobe. Fashion very quickly gets thrown out the window, Warmth and comfort become a priority.

If you're anything like me that means you have to be inventive to create quirky and interesting outfits throughout the season of winter, if so, here's my top tips for this winter!

1.Don't compromise on keeping warm, buy a fashionable maxi!
I wear lot of maxi skirts in the winter, although typically associated with summer, they're awesome for hiding a pair of warm leggings underneath!
I LOVE this maxi skirt which incorporates a BIG winter trend, AZTEC!
Beautiful aztec skirt

2. Buy some warm funky leggings that you can wear with over-sized cozy jumpers!
I love these Marks and Spencer leggings, they're on the pricey side at £19 but you get the idea. A cheap alternative can definitely be found at Primark or New Look.
Again, with the Aztec...I think i might like it :)

Indigo Collection Leggings

3. You can always dress up an outfit with Jewellery.
For example this awesome elephant necklace from Dixi is exactly what will take an outfit from ok to amazing!

That's some of my winter fashion tips! I hope you all keep warm and cozy on these cold days.
I'd love to know how you survive winter without compromise on fashion?

Love you loads, Beth xxx

Kate Middleton Stuns at Charity Gala...

Kate Middleton attended a Charity Gala at Kensington Palace today. She went solo and left baby George at home with William. Kate looked fabulous in a gorgeous Jenny Packman gown, and boy did she do it justice.

She looks amazing as she pulls off a very natural makeup look, i just loved looking through the photos of her at this event and really wanted to share them with you all!

I think i will try and take inspiration from this makeup look when going to a formal event.

What do you think? Do you like this look?

All these photos are curtosy of Daily Mail, to read their full article click here.

I hope you are all well,
