Keeping on trend this winter (fall/winter 2013)

I don't know about you but these cold winter days are making me have to re-think my wardrobe. Fashion very quickly gets thrown out the window, Warmth and comfort become a priority.

If you're anything like me that means you have to be inventive to create quirky and interesting outfits throughout the season of winter, if so, here's my top tips for this winter!

1.Don't compromise on keeping warm, buy a fashionable maxi!
I wear lot of maxi skirts in the winter, although typically associated with summer, they're awesome for hiding a pair of warm leggings underneath!
I LOVE this maxi skirt which incorporates a BIG winter trend, AZTEC!
Beautiful aztec skirt

2. Buy some warm funky leggings that you can wear with over-sized cozy jumpers!
I love these Marks and Spencer leggings, they're on the pricey side at £19 but you get the idea. A cheap alternative can definitely be found at Primark or New Look.
Again, with the Aztec...I think i might like it :)

3. You can always dress up an outfit with Jewellery.
For example this awesome elephant necklace from Dixi is exactly what will take an outfit from ok to amazing!

That's some of my winter fashion tips! I hope you all keep warm and cozy on these cold days.
I'd love to know how you survive winter without compromise on fashion?

Kate Middleton Stuns at Charity Gala...

Kate Middleton attended a Charity Gala at Kensington Palace today. She went solo and left baby George at home with William. Kate looked fabulous in a gorgeous Jenny Packman gown, and boy did she do it justice.

She looks amazing as she pulls off a very natural makeup look, i just loved looking through the photos of her at this event and really wanted to share them with you all!

I think i will try and take inspiration from this makeup look when going to a formal event.

What do you think? Do you like this look?

I hope you are all well,

Reasons to believe in yourself

All to often i hear of people having no confidence in themselves or in what they can achieve in life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect and all to often doubt starts to creep in but i hope that on the whole we can see and realize the potential that we all have inside of ourselves.
When i was diagnosed with joint hypermobility syndrome 3 years ago,  i didn't know what my future held. But i was confident that no condition or amount of pain would stop me from being the beautiful young woman i am. Truly, we all should have purpose in our lives.  I know what's it like to feel a little lost inside yourself but have confidence,  you'll find your direction.
Giving of yourself and caring for others is something that can make you so beautiful. Look at areas in your life where you can reevaluate and adjust to help others.
My first challenge to you is to help you realize that you are beautiful. I want you to go through your photos on your computer and social media. Find several photos you like of yourself and then make it public- via blog post, google+, facebook, instagram etc.
The important thing is acknowledging that you see yourself as the beautiful people you are.
So here's mine...
These photos are the photos that i love to look at because they remind me of all the times i have felt confident and beautiful :)
Have a great day,

Revlon Nearly Naked: My everyday Foundation!

After a couple of days of being insanely busy, I've taken the afternoon off to get caught up on all thing YouTube, Blog and Pinterest!

Whilst browsing through my pictures i noticed some photos i'd taken when i initially started using Revlon Nearly Naked foundation, so it's about time i did a post on it!

I have it in two shades but during the summer i like to use the shade 'Nude'. It comes in a glass bottle (which i love) and has a screw on-off top, which can get a little messy, a pump would have been easier.

You get 30ml in the bottle, which has lasted me ages! The foundation is sheer (or naked as the name suggests) but gives a reasonable amount of coverage. I like my freckles & imperfections to come through, rather i look for a foundation that even out my skin tone and doesn't dry out my skin (Don't get me started on the Calvin Klein foundation!!!).

So here are the photos, First, me bare faced. Then the rest are with the foundation...Let me know what you think!

Have a great day!

My 1940's attempt!

Hello Everyone,

This Friday i'm attending a surprise anniversary party. The theme of the party is anything from 1920's-40's/Jazz. I will be singing with a few of my friends as we've recently formed a band, so i felt it important that i make an effort with the theme as i'll be singing a couple of Jazz numbers.

I was free on Monday night and the inner planner came out. I decided to have a go at recreating a Jazz inspired hair do and makeup look. I found a few photos on pinterest to inspire me and gave it a bash. I took tons of photos to help me recreate it on Friday, so i thought i'd share them with you.

Let me know what you think!
Have you ever done a vintage look? Do you have any tips for me?

Love to you all xxx

A day in the life, preparing for an Opera Performance (Hair & Makeup)...

Hello My lovelies! Who could believe that it's July?! Still, i had a busy month throughout June, during which i had a couple of Opera performances. People ask me what i get up to before an evening performance, here i share with you my general hair and makeup routine...

Opera performance starts at 7:30pm,

7 hours earlier...

12pm - Shower, moisturize and dry my hair. I put my hair in rollers to set for a couple of hours...

1pm - 2:30 pm - I try to relax by catching up on Queens tennis tournament. I snack throughout the day but avoid as much dairy as possible. I avoid chocolate at all costs!!

2:30pm - Time to take my hair out of the rollers. I was really pleased with the results, it lasted well all evening.

3pm - Contacts go in, and makeup is put on!

4pm - Makeup is done! Time to warm up and sing through my song twice. By this point i'm chugging the tea and water. Final preparations are done and i'm off to rehearsal at 5:30pm

The perfomance went really well and i had alot to be proud of. I hope you have enjoyed this little insight into how much and how long preparation takes. It all pays off in the end up though :)

Love you all, Beth xxx

Cheryl Cole shows us how it's done at Cannes

I must say Cheryl really rocked this dress.  Her hair and makeup were styled perfectly to show off the stunning detail of the dress.
I would definitely consider asking my hairdresser to copy her hair braid for the next formal event/party i attend.  Cheryl kept her makeup really natural, big lashes helped emphasise her beautiful eyes.  The paps were all over her.  But then I'm grateful as i have so many stunning photos of her to share with you all.

What do you think of Cheryl's look?

Thank you to all you lovely readers that keep coming back to my blog! Since reaching 5000 views my daily page views has grown.  I appreciate the people that keep showing their appreciation for my blog.  I love reading your comments too.

As always,  i hope you are having a great day!
Much love,  Beth xxx

Hard times...

Recently, life has given me nothing but negativity to dwell on. I am such a positive person & I find the good in every situation, but that's been harder than normal these last few weeks.

I was first told 11 days ago that a friend of mine had suddenly died. Although I love the idea of keeping in touch with everyone, I'm very lazy when it comes to putting that in action. So, I had'nt spoken to this friend in a few months.

I knew her from school, we shared the same form class aswell as art, technology, English, drama etc.

Although her sudden death brought me much sadness and has brought life temporarily to a halt. This isn't about me, this is a tribute to her.

As much as she did have a certain friend group in school she made everyone feel special. She had this way of speaking to you, even briefly, but making you feel like you were really cared for.

She was a beauty of a woman. Absolutely stunning, even without makeup and in her school uniform she was gorgeous.

So here's to Kerry. May her family find peace.

We'll see her again.

Unfortunately this isn't the end of the rollercoaster that has been the last few weeks, but I'll deal with that in another post soon.

Keep safe, tell your family you love them.
I love you all,
Beth xxx

Inspirational Hair

I think everyone Googles a certain hairstyle before going to the hairdressers to get a hair cut.

I've been going to the same hair dresser for about 6 years. Her name is Joanne and shes wonderful! She always seems to be thinking on my wave length, knowing what style i want.

I always print off a few photos so Joanne can have a look at what hair inspiration i have. About 2 months ago i got my hair cut, here are the photos that inspire me and my hair :)

Inspiration for having it curly/wavy...

What do you think? Which Celeb inspires you towards a certain hairstyle?
